Voting Rights Act Renewal

Renewal of the Voting rights Act of 1965

The following list of House of Representative legislators should be publicly admonished for their reluctance to vote in favor of renewal of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2006/roll374.xml). I can only assume that these representatives must come from homogenous, all-white districts or not be up for re-election any time soon to be so flippant with their vote:

Baker, Barrett (SC), Bartlett (MD), Barton (TX), Bonner, Burton (IN), Campbell (CA), Conaway, Deal (GA), Doolittle, Duncan, Everett, Foxx, Franks (AZ), Garrett (NJ), Gingrey, Hefley, Hensarling, Herger, Sam Johnson, King (IA), Linder, McHenry, Gary Miller, Norwood, Paul, Price (GA), Rohrabacher, Royce, Shadegg, Tancredo, Thornberry, Westmoreland.

I would like to call for the immediate public denouncement of these legislators for their lack of reasoning abilities even in the face of the existing historical context and precedence.

And smiled with tranquil eye;

"In destinies sad or merry,

True men can but try."
