Cold Case Great Plains: Exploring an Unsolved Dakota Indian Double Homicide

In the summer of 2007, I traveled along Nebraska State Highway 91 documenting some of the culture, communities, and personalities in east central Nebraska.  Highway 91 spans from Blair (along the Iowa-Nebraska border) to Dunning, Nebraska, about 232 miles westward.  This year, I have chosen to document Nebraska's Elkhorn River valley, beginning at the point where it empties into the Platte River southwest of Gretna, Nebraska.  From there, I will travel upstream, following the river until I locate its origin somewhere in rural Rock County in north central Nebraska.  I hope that you will enjoy these stories and photos, both of which are the product of the author.

 He said, "Why should I tarry?"

And smiled with tranquil eye;

"In destinies sad or merry,

True men can but try."
